About Nordic Credit

Five years. Three thousand tonnes. Zero shortcuts.

We started where most carbon ideas start — at a checkout button — and ended up rebuilding how a credit earns the right to be sold. Five years on, we've retired thousands of tonnes across five countries, written our own methodology, and proven that focus beats scale when a credit actually has to hold up. The slow path isn't the humble path. It's the one that survives scrutiny.

Our journey

From an offset button to an audit system.

01
Amsterdam · 2020

A checkout button.

Our first carbon product was a checkout-time offset feature inside an e-commerce app — one tap, one tonne. We learned that credits you click on a button at a checkout are not the credits we believed in.

02
2022

Custom audit software.

Our first commissioned work: a custom carbon-audit tool for a client. The shift from selling credits to interrogating what makes a credit real. It changed every brief that came after.

03
AMCX · 2023—2024

Three thousand tonnes.

We built an end-to-end carbon marketplace under the AMCX banner and retired roughly 3,000 tonnes across five countries. Most outfits our size never clear their first hundred. We did it the hard way — every credit curated, every project verified by hand.

04
Today

A neutral audit system.

Our focus now: registry-grade audit and verification for the smallholder farms and kilns of South Asia — proof from a chat message, examined by AI, in the form the registries accept. We never own what we verify.

One builder. Five years in.

Nithin George Charuvila

Founder

Nithin started building companies in his final year of college and has since shipped 30+ products for clients ranging from YC-backed startups to BNP Paribas, Merck, and three Indian banks.

His work today sits at the intersection of carbon economics, venture syndication for sequestration projects, and AI automation for businesses in the unorganised sector. He helped shape Kerala's Student Entrepreneurship Policy and has served on the boards of several climate-tech and fintech startups.

The team builds from Kerala, where the data is born; the base is Norway, inside the EEA, where Europe's buyers and regulators sit. Credible on both sides of every transaction — and, by design, on neither side of the trade.
